Before going independent I led store-to-ERP integrations for distributors and a high-volume online grocer, scoping the data flows and running delivery between the client's IT team and the developers.
Common questions
How much does a Shopify expert cost in Australia?
It depends on the kind of store and what it has to connect to. After a free 20-minute call I can usually send a ballpark by email. Complex work, such as an integration with your ERP, starts with paid scoping, credited against the build.
Are Shopify experts worth it?
Not always. A simple store can launch on a good theme with Shopify's own setup tools, and I'll tell you if that's you. An expert earns the fee on the parts that are easy to get wrong: tax and shipping rules, migrations that keep your search rankings, and connections to Xero, stock and your ERP.
How much does a Shopify migration cost?
It's a fixed price, agreed before work starts. What has to move decides the cost: how many products, customers and orders, and what the store connects to. I redirect every old URL to protect your search rankings.
Do we need Shopify Plus?
Most stores don't, at least at first. Plus earns its cost at high volume, or when you need things only Plus offers, such as deeper checkout customisation or several stores run together. I'll tell you when you've reached that point.
Can Shopify connect to Xero or our ERP?
Yes. Xero connects through an integration app that brings in sales, fees and payouts. An ERP usually needs a connector or middleware, so stock, pricing and orders flow between them without double handling. I scope this part first, because it's where store projects usually run late.
Can you look after our Shopify store after launch?
Yes: changes, theme fixes, app reviews and new pages, on prepaid hours or pay as you go. Shopify hosts the store itself, so there's no hosting fee from me. Your Shopify plan and paid apps are billed to you directly by Shopify and the app makers.
